"Keep On Rockin in the Free World"

The election protection site has a page specific to election day problems.

The most dissappointing news was an last minute appeals court decision to allow partisan poll monitors in Ohio, one per precinct. Hopefully that will not be enough to disenfranchise too many voters. While Democrats seek to get the vote out, Republicans continue to try to suppress turn out that is not likely going their way, primarily in inner city areas where African Americans are more likely to vote Democratic.

Michael Moore reportedly will be filming at polls in Florida and Ohio. As Reagan said, [the film] doesn't lie. The whole world is watching.

In Michigan, automated calls told voters that Kerry approved of gay marriage, and that their voting place had changed.

In Arizona, most recently not considered a swing state, district and school administrators are advised to monitor all voters who come on campuses and to consider implementing emergency-response plans during Tuesday's election. John Hartsell, Arizona director for the Election Protection coalition, said, "Our only concern is that, while protecting students, you may infringe on the rights of voters. If folks have to show identification to get on campus or get into the polling place, that's a violation of the Help America Vote Act and of state statutes." Full story in the Arizona Republic

So it goes. In my opinion, freedom and credibility is on the ballot this year. All the more reason to vote for change. Regardless of today's outcome, there will likely be a need to advocate for true democracy.
