Keith Oberman recently said that 8 out of 10 said the last election was fair, but for the 2 out of 10, it should be examined for possible fraud.
In the article linked below, Thom Hartmann explains how Democrats and Republicans advocate against election fraud in former Soviet states, but not within the US. The article states that exit polls are a main tool in asserting fraud has occurred, if they do not match the actual result.
This has occurred in different areas during the 2000, 2002 and 2004 elections.
Republicans want to do away with exit polls, because they don't match outcomes favoring Republicans.

One last thought, when voting machines leave no paper trail or no means to complete a recount, reverse trends, as seen in Florida, (where heavier Democratic areas uncharacteristically went Republican), there way to check for fraud.
